Street Party

Monday has been a very busy but very fun day. The day began with Emma being put on her funky play mat on her front. She has learnt to wriggle on her belly if we put our hands beneath her feet. She then pushes forward using her face as a sort of plough!!

After this exertion she reclined on the sofa to watch her favourite programmes. Shame University Challenge is on in the evening!

We set off for Street before 11am to meet up with my Mum and Dad in Clarks Village. The weather was scorching, so we had to escape to the air-conditioned shops for some respite. A fine excuse for some major shopping!!
Mum & Dad treated themselves to a new set of Denby plates - very swish!!

After an exhausting spend we had a very pleasant lunch at a Street pub. Paninis all round!!

After this we had a further spend in the various sales & re-stocked our wardrobes. We had a good browse in Whittards and purchased some posh squash!! Headed off at 4.30 via a very good butchers. Got ourselves a wild boar pot roast. This is currently lurking in the depths of the freezer & will be savoured when we feel adventurous!!

Once home we walked along the sea front to water a friends garden. We saw some sights on our way - A boy caked from head to toe in mud. Will have excellent skin after that caking!! We also saw a sinking boat in the Marine Lake. The lads pictured had an impromptu swim shortly after this photo was taken and the boat disappeared!

We watered our friends garden & enjoyed a picnic of home-made quiche, salad & beer. Emma did't want to miss out on the feast so had a snack of her own!!

We popped in to see Grandma, but Emma had a major screaming fit. As conversation was impossible we headed off into a beautiful pinky-orange sunset.
We walked back via the Ladye Bay pathway (nauseatingly named Lovers Walk!!). The sunset became even more breathtaking. Here are just a few of the many photos taken. Click to enlarge.
