What a perfect Thursday Emma's had! Last night was brilliant with just two short feeds, then she was very good and peaceful whilst Helen had a bath this morning. Helen did some baking with Emma tucked in the papoose being quiet. Later, they walked along the sea front past the Band Stand and back.

They visited Connie's house at 2pm and met Penny Kenchington, Connie's friend (left) and Betty Donoghue, Connie's neighbour (right). Emma slept throughout all the adoration and continued to sleep until about 5pm.
When I got back she'd just had a feed, and as I burped her she gave a series of lovely smiles and was making happy noises - a lovely welcome from work.

After another feed we headed off to the Drum and Monkey where there was a meal for Helen and her colleagues to see off Becky Barnes and Julie Kirk who were about to start their maternity leaves. Emma was cuddled by lots of new friends until the table was ready when I took her off in the sling back home.

The walk was around two miles and pretty soon Emma let me know she was hungry

.

Fortunately, Helen had expressed some milk before the evening, so I was able to feed Em

ma by the riverbank. She took the bottle readily and downed half of it before taking a rest. We headed for home and made it back in time for the second half of the milk. Once finished she slept again, but only on my lap, as soon as I put her down she complained. Helen got back just in time at 10.30pm having enjoyed a good catch up with her colleagues, and a chicken chasseur. Emma immediately latched on and had a particularly long feed probably enjoying the chicken too!

This is a photograph of the "Pill" by Marshall's Field in Clevedon which was where the boats and ships would have docked in years gone by. With Clevedon's enormous tidal range it is a place only for experienced sailors with its twisting entrance to the river.
