Scrabble Night

Hello Blog readers.

Here's Emma, the media star! She appeared in the Clevedon Mercury this week after I tipped them off soon after she was born. I've had people coming into the pharmacy with congratulations all morning today. Click on the photos to enlarge them.

We've had a rather noisy two days from Emma since I went back to work. She's been crying for food, feeding, sleeping for about 15 minutes, then starting again. She's been getting better at night and sleeping in 4 - 5 hour spells more often. She ofter wakes and gristles at 6.30am, but will then fall asleep if I hold her.

She's doing some new things this week too. She's able to hold her head up for much longer periods and is able to track moving objects. She'll look around to see who is talking as well.

On Friday lunch time I took the plaque with Emma's imprints to a picture framers in Nailsea called Images. Hopefully they will be able to frame it so it can be mounted on the wall. Helen, Leila and Emma paid me a visit at work on Friday. Leila was wearing Helen's clothes following an "Emma incident" possibly implicating a design flaw in the new biodegradable nappies.

The lamb shoulder slow cooked really nicely through the day. It fell apart when I lifted it out of the slow cooker. I cooked some rice and fine beans to go with it, and the gravy was perfect. Leila and Connie came to help us eat it. Afterwards Helen destroyed us all at scrabble, surprising herself after her warnings on how she wouldn't be very good for lack of sleep.

This weekend we're off to Tisbury for the Cruse Bereavement Counsellor's Annual Ball. Dad is their Chairman and it sounds like the Shallcross clan will be descending in force to support the charity. It's being held at the Tithe Barn in Tisbury. It dates back to a very long time ago and is the longest for a very long way. We're taking a special back up dress for Emma just in case....
