Lawrences Bistro
Thanks to Rob and Leila, Helen and I tasted freedom tonight! On Friday I booked a table for two at Lawrence's Bistro for 7.30pm today. Then realised we had pounds of meat to eat and no foreseeable time to eat it... So Friday night was barbeque night. The beef rump joint became four rump steaks and the two chicken breasts became two chicken kebabs. We steamed some vegetables and had a good meal with Rob and Leila sat outside in our garden. Emma woke up and cried just as we were settling down to eat, but a finger to suckle on and some rocking settled her down long enough for us to eat.
During the day on Friday, Emma had been very good. She had a nice bath, and was very pleased with being in the water, but as usual crying when taken out.
On Saturday, she helped Emma and Leila water Jenny and Martin Hime's garden by staying in the papoose and being quiet. I went to work, and when I got back, the three of them got back with a large cucumber, lots of blackcurrants and some potatoes as well as tales of how large and well stocked the Hime garden is. We might pop in to water it again on Monday and see if we can half inch some fruit without anyone noticing....

Saturday afternoon was spent with wine making and sleeping. The bright red wine in the demi johns is the gooseberries we got from the Pick Your Own in Tickenham. The dark purple wine in the bowl is plum wine from some over ripe plums I got from Nailsea market. Emma had a feed when she popped in on her GG, Connie at 1pm, then went 5 hours until 6pm being happy and sleeping until her next feed - a new record! These pictures were taking after a good feeding at 6pm while we were burping her.

We dropped Emma at Rob and Leila's at 7pm. They greeted us with Pimms
and big cuddles for Emma. We set off for Lawrence's where we had beautiful food.

We got back at 10.30pm to find Emma had had huge amounts of expressed milk, and been mostly good, except for a few screams when Leila had managed to settle her with swaddling and walks along the river bank. We enjoyed a glass of whiskey, then headed home for a slightly later than usual night.
