The Joys of 35mm

On my recent visit to Barcelona with Steve Smith's stag party, I picked up an old camera with 10 exposures remaining. We tried to guess at when the other 14 would have been taken but couldn't guess. Turns out they were from Summer 2001! It's very scary to see us back then. There's some from Lin and Mike's wedding, some from Helen's 24th birthday. Here is Helen back in 2001. We were walking around a lake at the top of Tisbury, by the Fonthill Estate. The lake is featured in the film Chocolat - although in the film it was the river where the gypsies moor their boats.

Here is an equally lush photo of Dave to the left. Quite the stunning couple. And no, I, Helen, was not aware that Dave had posted the above foul photo. Revenge is sweet.......

Here are Mike and Lin leaving the church after tying the knot.
Here's Helen opening some presents in Clevedon on her birthday - still in 2001. When Rob saw this yesterday he admired his old waist line! Helen's main present that year was a new camera, hence the retirement of the just developed one.
Here's the guys from the Stag Weekend, back in Barcelona in 2006 now. From left to right, Richard (Toley), James, Vu (hidden), John (hidden), me, Steve, Vijay, Mark and Anton. We were about to enjoy paella.
Here's a funkily painted Golf we passed on the way back from the police station (long story...)
Here's part of the miles of beautiful man made beaches north of the Olympic Harbour region. Our hotel was right on the front so we made a point of having plenty of beers in the bars that were directly on the beach. Our enjoyment of the beers was aided by the Spanish disregard for covering up!
Here's the group of us again ready to go after 2 nights hard partying. I think its fair to say we were all feeling fairly old by that point. Here I am wedged into the taxi on the way home. I'm in the rear foot well because the taxi company didn't have any 5 seater taxis so the 9 of us squeezed into two 4 seaters. The drive was an hour, but by alternating buttocks on the hard floor, I was able to avoid gangrene.

Hey hey! What a great read! I'm about to go and get Rowan to have a look as well. Great memories already - and they will be some of the classic memories in a few years, I have a feeling. I'm talking about the jousting event and Weston, by the way, not the stag do, which will be remembered as well no doubt...
