Bouncing Baby

Today's been hot and humid in Clevedon. I finished work at 1pm and got home to a happy Helen and Emma. Emma had gone back to sleep after I left for work and allowed Helen the rare luxury of a lie in. After a quiche and salad lunch, I went shopping for chicken and vegetables with Emma whilst Helen caught up on some more sleep. When I got back at 5pm, I put Emma into her bouncy chair and captured these photos and this video (click on this writing to see it.) In the last picture Emma's having a sneeze.

By the end of the video, Emma was starting to get a bit hungry, so Helen was woken and fed Emma, then we went on a walk to settle her down again, and ended up at the Salthouse pub (our local) for an evening meal. It was hard finding a table as the ants were swarming and flying and only a few tables were free from them. It provided quite a spectacle watching the whirling clouds of ants and Saturday night drinkers arriving in their party gear and shaking a layer of ants off their clothes and faces.

Emma woke up just as our food arrived and demanded another feeding. Suckling a finger kept her quiet for a while, then Helen gave her a proper feed.

We got back home at 8.15pm expecting Emma to want to sleep immediately, but she was wide awake for some time after and refused to settle, instead showing off for Rob and Leila who had visited on their way back from The Cellar where they'd enjoyed some wine and tapas. We just watched Jackass The Movie after finally settling her off to sleep.
