Mallorcan Holiday Bliss

What an awesome holiday we had in June. We went to stay in a villa that Rob and Leila had booked for 2 weeks. There was plenty of room for us, Rob, Leila and Becky and Rob. The weather was a steady 30C and we were all very comfortable. The built in babysitters were extremely efficient!

The pool was a bit cool for the first few days but gradually got warmer as the holiday went on. Emma was fascinated by it and kept the sentries busy. Fortunately she didn't have any accidents...

Emma's real love was of pushing people into the pool.

We mostly ate at the villa which was excellent for us as it meant nobody had to stay behind to babysit Emma. We went out to L'Aup, a restaurant a few doors down from us. The food was amazing. Emma lasted quite well but was a little difficult when it was past her bed time.

Rob Armstrong's real love was of cycling. Here is at Cap Formentor, a mountainous peninsular.

Maid service was reliable.

Rob didn't reckon on waking up with purple toe nails!

A fish extravaganza when Jonathan and Sue came to visit.

We walked up the 365 steps in Pollensa to San Salvador church. There was this Cuban guitarist at the top. Emma did a little dance for him. He was very pleased!

On one particularly hot day, Helen, Emma and I went into the Campanet Caves. The guide was very enthusiastic and the temperature was lovely and cool. Emma enjoyed looking at the stalactite and stalagmite formations.

Emma's 2nd Birthday

Emma's friend Joel visited to play a few days before her birthday.

This crop of elderflowers sadly never made it to the wine production stage.

Here's Emma about to start opening her awesome haul of presents!

The star present was probably this wigwam from Auntie Becky. Even Cheep Cheep approved.

We didn't take many photos of the birthday party Emma shared with Eleni. However this video captures the mood very nicely!

Here are some photos taken a few days later in the garden.

My Family and other Animals

We had some sun in May so Helen constructed a wigwam for Emma. She enjoyed reading her books in it.

I (David) took Emma to Noah's Ark Zoo Farm one afternoon. Emma enjoyed seeing all the animals, especially the goats.

I picked a lovely May day to go back to Brent Knoll. This time Helen came too.

We enjoyed spectacular views.

May Garden Antics

Here's Emma helping with watering the garden!

And here she is helping to construct a "bug box." The inspiration came from her Uncle John who has one in his garden to encourage the insects.
