Christmas at the Farm

We spent a wonderful christmas at Wallmead Farm with the Shallcross side of the family.

John, Helen and Tim gave Mum and Dad a chocolate fountain for christmas. We enjoyed dipping fruit into it. John wasn't shy and attacked it with a mug!

Helen made some crackers and personalised them by adding photos, home made hats and individual presents and forfeits. Here's Peter with his cracker.

And Dad with his silly home made hat.

Mum and Ros were given flashing hill-billy teeth. Emma had a little suck on them too!

Here are some of mum's orchids. Emma seems interested in Ria's food.

Mike, Steven and I went to see Peter preparing the yard for the cows, and we helped - a little! Mostly though we cooed over the youngest calfs and helped moved them around.

On Boxing Day we went for a walk with Mum, Dad, Mike and Lin. Ria was pushed in a chair, and Emma was in the papoose.

Here's a Christmas robin in the front garden.

Here's Lin and Ria playing "Granny Racers" - a Scalextrix type of circuit which grannies in wheelchairs race around. Endless amusement!

Ria played very nicely with Emma. Then Granny did too!

Emma is growing out of the Tummy Tub now and Mum bought a mini bath that fits on top of the real bath. Emma enjoyed playing with some new christmas bath toys in it.

We stayed until Wednesday, the day after Boxing Day. Here's Emma with Martin, her Grandad.

Uncle Dave and Auntie Angela, as well as my cousin Mark and his fiance Stacey came for lunch. Mark and Stacey are going to be spending 3 years in Japan starting in January. They are getting married in August.

With all the excitement, feeding Emma was difficult! Emma is getting rather strong ideas at meal times, sometimes being very co-operative, other times not having any of it! Sweet food like custard is never a problem, but sometimes savouries like potatoes, carrots and swede don't go down too easy.

We had a meeting of bloggers later on Wednesday. We popped in on Craig and Sharon on the way home. They are at the end of their epic travels now and looking forward to getting back to work. One of those statements is untrue, guess which.... Emma was thrilled with her present of monkeys which squeak and squeal when you attempt to strangle them.

Happy New Year everyone!

Christmas Eve!

Happy Christmas everyone!
We'll start with some christmassy pictures, but then track back as it's been over a week since I've posted and there's some good photos to show off.

The "lady" by the way is good old Fanny Craddock showing us how to make mince pies to please your man! A scary sight...

Here's some photos from last weekend when Helen met with Kath and Bryony for a cup of tea at No 4, The Beach, on the Clevedon seafront. Emma seemed intent on looking out the window and kept craling across the table towards the light.

Afterwards, they headed for Bryony's but kept getting interrupted by heads coming through the catflap...

On Sunday GG (Connie) invited us for Sunday lunch. She did a magnificent chicken roast. Helen, Emma, Leila and I walked along the seafront to get there. Emma enjoyed some yoghurt before we left. The badger is one of the tree decorations given to us by Becky.

On Thursday, Helen's Uncle Dave, Aunt Lisa and cousin Luke were visiting Nanna in Bridgwater so Helen, Emma, Rob and Leila popped down to see them all. Emma and Luke hit it off really well!

On Friday, Helen went back to see her workmates in Weston-super-Mare for a Christmas lunch at the office.

And finally here's a picture of Emma covered in mashed butternut squash!
