After lots of beauty sleep for me and seagull feeding for Dave & Emma, we headed off to try metal detecting. The story behind this is the loss of Dave's wedding ring. We went back to the place where we obtained our Xmas tree & were lucky enough to find the following:
a. 6 rusty nails, of varying length & girth.
b. 1 hinge bracket.
c. 1 item of horse tackle.
d. 1 piece of rusting sheet metal.
A cornucopia of crap, observed by a stinky old mare (not Helen you cheeky lot!)
After our bounty of treasure was unearthed we decided to celebrate (!!) by having a lovely lunch at Bottelino's in Nailsea. Emma succeeded in creating a butternut squash facial whilst we enjoyed our italian pasta!
We headed into Bristol to spy out some bargains. Out of the three of us, Emma obtained the greatest stash of goodies. Stay tuned to the Blog to check out her new threads!
We stopped in on the Mezzanine Cafe in the House of Fraser. There was a mirrored wall in the cafe, where Emma spent a good half hour scrambling over the leather sofa to smile and squeal at herself in delight. Our eardrums have just about stopped ringing now! Emma seems to have developed her range of sound and noises this week, leaving us in a confused state. Every noise now sounds like Emma to our ears - drills, cat squeaks, door squeaks, TV noises - all catch our attention as they sound so like Emma!
Emma & I had great fun on thursday when some friends from the antenatal crowd visited. The UFO walker went down a storm with both of the junior guests, almost creating a bit of rivalry. It produced many grins and giggles & furious peddling of little legs!
We had a rare treat on friday, courtesy of Leila. We went for a curry at the Red Rose while she babysat Emma. The sad thing was that we were back by half nine...we're not as young as we used to be you know!!!
Today we went for a walk along the sea-front to Hill Road to stock up on recyclable nappies & to have a refreshing cup of tea in the cellar. Emma played for the galleries as usual & received a great amount of coo-ing.
In the last week or so we have noticed a few developments with Emma. She continues to have a very sweet tooth, but is far more accepting of savouries and is tucking into meat with no complaints. She has also started to enjoy some drinks other than water. She downed a cup of pear juice today & yesterday with relish. Still no sign of using formula milk and bottles though. Thank goodness her teeth haven't come down yet!!
Emma is also starting to spend longer period sitting and lying on her front. She loses balance if she is concentrating very hard on something else, or gets excited!
